With the recession still forcing many holiday makers to keep their wallets firmly in their pockets, demand for cheap holidays is as high as ever. Recent stats show that searches online for the phrases "motorhomes" and "caravan parks" have increased by about 450% each over the last 12 months as Mr Joe Public shuns traditional foreign holiday destinations for a cheaper, but equally cheerful break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Transport around the city is fairly good, with regular buses and tube trains linking up all areas of the city, and the famous London cabs if you want a more luxurious way to get round.

Overall London is definitely one of the best holiday destinations for a city break - you need a good week or so to see all the sights and really enjoy it. It's a city full of history, culture and great entertainment and is open all year round, no matter what the weather.

Recent statistics reveal that UK caravan holidays are surging in number as people are less willing to splash out on extravagant foreign holidays - people are returning to the classic British holiday culture of the 70's and 80's. Foreign European holiday destinations are losing out - places such as Spain, Portugal, Italy and France - places that were once alot cheaper than England but now are just as pricey, making it hard to justify spending hundreds of pounds more than a cheap and cheerful holiday at home.
